It's (not) OFFICIAL!!!!

I have a third idea for my film. It's not a new idea, but it's new to becoming a choice of projects to work on for this unit. It's the long anticipated, long fabled, long everything else, Hogan Show 3. The 3rd installment of the epic series started in 2002. Fans knew it was coming and it’s been over a year and a half since Hogan Show 2 came out so this task of producing something for college and probably making Hogan Show 3 this year anyway go hand in hand, its pretty dam perfect. For those who don't know the Hogan Show, it is a series (of 2 so far) shows/epics straight to DVD which started in 2002. The show is usually a 1 hour build up to a wrestling match main event between the immortal Hulk Hogan (clearly an imposter but who are we to judge?) and whoever else is in the storyline with him. The show centers around this main storyline with plenty of unrelated mini-segments throughout with the whole thing being hosted and held together by a collection of social misfits such as lead host Fabulous Ernie, Cletus and his cousin/brother Redneck Gregg, The Mad Hatter, Granny Fanny, The Great Mutha, Satan Himself and many more. The good thing is that if I choose to do this as the project, it has already been in the development stage for about a year, its all been written and scripted, cast and other things are already prepared for it. That still leaves a lot to do of course, and all will be noted in detail here on this blog. And now I leave you, enlightened...at least a little bit.

OK, it's good to see that you've been giving a good bit of thought to the Graded Unit project.

With this partiular suggestion, there is certainly scope for you to do some of the arranging and liaising outside your normal circle, that the Unit calls for.

You would need to be careful, I think, that the movie doesn't degenerate into you and/or a few of your pals just mucking about.

Keep thinking about it though..

As discussed in class, in due course you will need to firm up your plans, and produce, for stage 1, a planning document in which, in at least 500 words, you outline your project, the rationale and research behind it, and the methods you propose to use.

You have been given a handout sheet outlining the reuirements of the planning document, and you can also see a summary of these on page 2 of the optional printed Planning Log Book you've been given (which can be largely replaced by maintaining your online blog, but some elements of which may help you to structure your work).

As we have discussed, the planning document is an investigative report of at least 500 words in which you select, justiify and develop a strategy for managing your project. It could include market research (see prpevious comments about Research Skills unit) and should examine and analyse issues likely to affect the ppractical production aspects of your project, for example, resources, legal or ethical concerns, sponnsorship, promotional activities, campaign strategy.
